Our story

   We are the 5th generation to invest in this family establishment :

 The Hotel Le Poulmic.

   The very 1st business, the Bar du Poulmic, was opened in kerborhel (hamlet within Lanvéoc) by our great-great-grandmother and our great-grandmother.

    During the Second World War, the Crozon Peninsula was under Nazi occupation due to its strategic position and the presence of many fortifications.

Unfortunately, in 1940, Nazis planted two bombs in the bar. Warned by neighbors, our great-grandmother managed to escape with her two young children (a few months and 1 year) and a simple iron box containing coffee as her only possession to save... With no roof over the head, she dismantled a barracks abandoned by the Nazis and then rebuilt next to the ruins of her house. Thanks to her strenght of character, our great-grandmother resumed her activity.

   In the aftermath of the Second World War, our great-grandmother was refused the construction of a new house and is expropriated by the army. She then moved to a new plot of land, at 80 rue du Fret in Lanvéoc, to start over her business :

a bar restaurant was created in 1954 !

   Our grandmother, who wanted to become a nurse, ended her studies in Paris to come back to assist her mother who had more and more work.

Our grandfather, a Bearnese man who was traveling for work, fell under the spell of the peninsula of Crozon and ...   of a Breton woman !  

A new generation then took over and boosted the trade with its new ideas.

   With the construction sites on the military bases of the Crozon Peninsula that brought many workers, our grandparents decided to quickly build two additional buildings to meet the high demand for rooms ; hence its atypical shape.

Indeed, they chose not to exploit their breathtaking view of the Bay of Brest and instead built an establishment all in lenght, so as not to have a view of the road. They opted for calm and quiet. The garden however allows you to enjoy an unobstructed view of the bay of Brest.

The Hotel (-Bar-Restaurant) Le Poulmic was born !

   The children, then the grandchildren, came to brighten up the business. The clientele of regulars appreciates the laughter and the frenzied hide-and-seek games of the children, which contributes to the good atmosphere and the warm welcome that reign in the establishment .

   The years have passed, the family atmosphere has evolved at the same time as the children have grown.

But it persists ! 

   Some of our customers tell us that they feel "at home", others, after several years, come back to give us a little hello.

And this, to our greatest pleasure !

   We want to keep our identity and not offer you soulless identical rooms.  

Your comfort is important to us just like this establishment.

   The  Hotel Le Poulmic is considered the heart of our family. This is where we all meet (sometimes more than 70 people). It is for this reason that we, two of the grand-daughters, decided to partner and keep this family hotel alive.
